Undistract is local-first by design. This is the whole policy.

Nothing leaves your browser

Blocking happens entirely on your device. Your stats — blocked attempts, escape-hatch uses, time-reclaimed estimates, regret labels — are stored in your browser's local storage and nowhere else. There are no accounts, no servers holding your data, and no telemetry.

The only network requests

• Blocking-rule updates — an optional fetch of a plain config file so blocking keeps working when platforms redesign. Carries no data about you. Can be turned off in Settings.
• Duo Lock (opt-in) — if you pair with a friend, anonymous event types ("used an escape hatch") and coarse weekly totals are shared with that one partner. A pair is two random codes; no names, emails, URLs or watched content — ever. Unpairing deletes the shared room.

Settings sync

If your browser's built-in extension sync is on, your toggle preferences sync through your browser vendor under their policy — never your stats.

Payments

Future premium purchases are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. The extension only ever sees an anonymous license key.

Export & delete

Options → Data lets you export everything as JSON or wipe it permanently, any time. Uninstalling the extension deletes all data.

Permissions

Host access is limited to the six platforms Undistract blocks (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok) and is used only to hide or redirect short-form surfaces.
